DETROIT (WKZO) -- Members of the United Auto Workers are on track to see their first dues increase in nearly 50 years. Delegates at the UAW constitutional convention in Detroit voted Tuesday for the first increase since 1967 following a two-and-a-half-hour debate.

Union workers making 28-dollars an hour will now pay an extra 14-dollars per month while newer members in the 14-dollar an hour tier will pay seven-dollars more. The increase goes into effect in August and is expected to raise an additional 45-million dollars annually for the UAW.
