WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) -- Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin has questions for the Obama administration regarding the prisoner swap Monday that freed Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl from the Taliban.

Levin plans to ask during his committee's briefing next week what the risks would have been of waiting 30 days after negotiations were complete in order to give required notice to Congress of the swap. The Detroit Democrat is defending President Obama's actions, saying Obama signaled he would negotiate detainee transfers if needed seven months ago.

The U.S. freed five prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay for Bergdahl.
