Neil Young will be saluted at the seventh annual Grammy Week gala hosted by members of The Recording Academy's Producers & Engineers Wing, which will take place this Tuesday at The Village Recording Studios in West Los Angeles, California.  As first reported last October, the event will honor Young "for his commitment to excellence and ongoing support for the art and craft of recorded music," particularly in regard to sound quality.

An impressive list of other music luminaries are scheduled to attend the celebration, including Ringo Starr , Heart 's Ann and Nancy Wilson , Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh , Kris Kristofferson , Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith , Sheila E. , Jakob Dylan , and famed producers Rick Rubin and T-Bone Burnett .  A statement announcing the honor praises Neil's for his musical achievements as a solo artists, as well as with Buffalo Springfield , Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and Crazy Horse , while noting that that he's helped develop the soon-to-be-released high-quality audio system Pono.

Young is no stranger to Recording Academy honors.  In 2010, he was chosen as the organization's MusiCares Person of the Year.
