UNDATED (WTVB) - Would you say your doctor is a five-star physician? More Americans are using patient ratings to choose their doctors. At least that's according to a new WebMD study that found 35-percent of people surveyed said they chose a doctor because of positive ratings. Thirty-seven percent said they avoided doctors because of negative ratings from patient ratings websites such as Healthgrades.com and RateMDs.com. Researchers say this is a big shift away from picking a doctor based on closeness to where a patient lives or works. The study is published in the latest edition of the "Journal of the American Medical Association."
