LANSING (WKZO) -- Winter storms have blown in crazy costs for county Road Commissions and the State Department of Transportation.
Departments are shelling out for overtime, using record amounts of salt and sand, and filling in more potholes than most can remember. The worst, however, is yet to come.
In the Detroit Free Press, DOT director Kirk Steudle is quoted saying "this breakup that is going to happen in the next month is going to be horrendous." Departments across the region are asking for financial help as many are already dipping into their summer budgets.
