DETROIT (WKZO) -- As this winter Olympic weekend coincides with Sunday’s 50th anniversary of the Beatles' debut on the "Ed Sullivan Show" a Michigan man has reasons to remember that date in February 1964.

Speedskater Terry McDermitt was the only member of the U.S. Olympic Team to win a gold medal in Innsbruk that year.  He also made an appearance on the "Ed Sullivan Show" the same night as the Beatles.

When Sullivan found out that McDermitt was a barber, he staged a photo of McDermitt pretending to cut Paul McCartney’s hair with the rest of the mop-top crew looking on in mock horror.
