Health issues continue to plague Gregg Allman .  The 66-year-old rocker has had to pull out of the last two dates of his brief Australian tour because he's been hampered by a wrist injury he suffered shortly before heading Down Under.

The affected concerts were a show this past Monday in Sydney and a performance that's scheduled for Wednesday in Melbourne. Neither event was canceled; instead, opening acts Gov't Mule and Devon Allman , Gregg's son, are playing longer sets at each show.

The events' promoters, Bluesfest Touring, have issued a statement explaining, "Gregg Allman broke his wrist not long before the tour commenced and since, his injury has unexpectedly worsened leaving him in severe pain and unable to perform.  Gregg will be returning to the US immediately to seek medical treatment."

Ticket holders for the Melbourne gig have the choice of getting a full refund or attending the concert and receiving a partial refund.

Jambands.com reports that Gregg's injury rendered him unable to play organ at the finale of The Allman Brothers Band 's performance at its 2014 Wanee Festival on April 12.  Prior to that, the singer was sidelined by a case of bronchitis that led The Allman Brothers to postpone the last four shows of their March residency at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.

Gregg is slated to launch a series of U.S. solo shows on May 3 at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans.  He recently added seven dates to his schedule .
