Paul McCartney just kicked off a new Latin American leg of his Out There Tour over the weekend, and the road trip already has hit a speed bump.  The legendary Beatle has postponed the trek's second show , which had been scheduled to take place at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, on Monday, April 21, because a plane carrying his equipment didn't arrive in the city on time.

The concert now is scheduled for this Wednesday, April 23.  Sir Paul also has a previously announced show at the same venue on Tuesday.

"Though I'm upset that the jumbo jet carrying all my equipment for the show has gone technical and will not arrive in Santiago in time for the show…I will not cancel the concert," said McCartney in a statement.  "I would hate to disappoint our great Chilean fans so we are moving the Monday show to Wednesday this week and looking forward to having a rocking time in Santiago."

The tour kicked off Saturday at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay.  McCartney reportedly played a whopping 40 songs at the concert.

In other news, McCartney continues to expand his U.S. summer tour itinerary, and has confirmed five new stateside shows -- all in the Midwest.  The latest performances will take place July 9 in Chicago; July 12 in Fargo, North Dakota; July 14 in Lincoln, Nebraska; July 16 in Kansas City, Missouri; and August 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Paul has never played in Fargo or Lincoln before, while his last visits to Chicago, Kansas City and Minneapolis were during his 2011, 2010 and 2005 tours, respectively.

Tickets for the new dates will go on sale to the general public on April 28 at 10 a.m. local time, while American Express Card members will get the chance to purchase pre-sale tickets starting this Thursday, April 24, also at 10 a.m.

McCartney's 2014 U.S. leg now features a total of 15 shows, spanning from a June 13 event in Lubbock, Texas, through an August 7 concert in Salt Lake City.  More dates will be announced soon.
