She's got the beehive hairdo, heavy eye-makeup and soulful voice, so it's no surprise that Adele has often been compared to the late, legendary singer Dusty Springfield . Now, there's a report that she's in talks to portray Springfield in an upcoming biopic.
A studio executive tells the U.K. paper The Daily Mail, " There’s a project -- and it’s true Adele is attached -- but it’s in an early stage of development."
The movie will reportedly follow the period that the British singer moved to the U.S. to record her legendary 1969 album Dusty in Memphis. That album featured Dusty's landmark hit "Son of a Preacher Man," which Adele is reportedly a big fan of.
According to the paper, a writer is about to be hired for the script, but a director is still needed, and Adele would have to approve the script and commit 100 percent to the project. If all goes well, the film could start shooting late next year or in 2015.
The paper reports that Adele's spokesperson didn't deny the singer's involvement in the project, but simply offered a "no comment" when asked about the movie.
