AUBURN HILLS (WKZO) -- The launch of the new Jeep Cherokee has been delayed for a second time. The "Detroit News" reports problems with the vehicle’s new nine-speed automatic transmission have been reported.
The first setback came in July when fit and finish problems with the all-new SUV led officials to delay shipments to dealers. Chrysler officials say they have enough vehicles built already, but want to make sure issues with the gearbox are fixed before selling them to the public.
Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne told reporters earlier this year the Cherokee launch was critical to Chrysler’s second half performance for 2013.
