DETROIT (WKZO) -- Flint and Detroit have retained their most violent cities in America rankings.

According to FBI crime statistics released this week, Flint, Michigan’s seventh-largest city, saw an overall rise in violent crime in 2012, while Detroit saw a small drop.  According to the data, there were over 2,700 violent crimes reported in Flint in last year.  That’s nearly 400 more than 2011’s total.

Detroit had 15,000 violent crime incidents in 2012, that’s compared to 15,245 incidents in 2011.  Flint had the most murders per capita for cities with more than 100-thousand residents in the country, followed by Detroit, which ranked second.
