Efforts made to reduce paperwork for Michigan businesses

LANSING (WKZO) -- In a continuing effort to make the state more business friendly officials in Lansing have promised to cut the number of government forms required by Michigan businesses in half.  Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley says that there have already been great strides toward improving Michigan's regulatory climate and to move the effort forward he is implementing what he calls "Reinventing Performance in Michigan."

The goals of the initiative are to improve satisfaction with the regulatory process by 25-percent and to show a 50-percent improvement in customer response.  The other two goals are to ensure that regulatory materials are actually needed and utilized and to cut the number of forms needed in any given process.
