SOUTHFIELD (WKZO) -- It's just three weeks until the Affordable Care Act launches, and the state is desperately searching for people to hire and train as navigators for the program.

Over 100 non-profit groups, from soup kitchens to consumer education organizations have been recruited to help hire and train navigators to help the millions of uninsured citizens now eligible for healthcare coverage under so-called, "Obamacare."  Once trained, navigators with laptops will be sent to community events, food banks, churches, free clinics and other sites to help sign up people online for health care insurance.

The enrollment period lasts six months, and coverage will begin in January.
