Walkway in Michigan Capitol named for former Attorney General

LANSING (WKZO) -- The walkway between the state Capitol building and the Michigan Hall of Justice now bears the name of the longest-serving attorney general in the country.  Frank Kelley served as Michigan's 50th attorney general from 1961 to 1999, and had been nicknamed the "Eternal General."

Kelley was the state's youngest-ever top police officer at 36 when he was first elected and its oldest at 74 when he decided to not seek reelection.  He was succeeded in office by Jennifer Granholm, who used it as a launching pad to become governor.
