Legacy Recordings has revealed its lineup of special vinyl releases that will be sold in conjunction with this year's installment of Record Store Day's Black Friday initiative, which is scheduled for November 29. Paul Simon , Bob Dylan , The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cheap Trick are just a few of the artists who will be contributing limited-edition discs to the campaign, which supports local record stores.
Among the releases will be remastered vinyl editions of Simon's first three solo studio efforts -- 1972's Paul Simon , 1973's There Goes Rhymin' Simon and 1975's Still Crazy After All These Years . Each will come with a download card that will allow buyers to access digital versions of the records.
Dylan will contribute a three-LP version of the Side Tracks rarities album that initially will be available on two CDs as part of the massive Bob Dylan Complete Album Collection Vol. One compilation.
Also hitting stores will be a seven-inch single boasting live renditions of "Fire" and "Foxey Lady" from the Jimi Hendrix Experience's performance at the 1968 Miami Pop Festival.
Cheap Trick will offer up The Classic Albums 1977-1979 , a five-disc set gathering together the five albums the power-pop legends released during the 1970s -- Cheap Trick , In Color , Heaven Tonight , Live Budokan and Dream Police .
Other Black Friday highlights include a four-LP anthology of Roy Orbison 's recordings for the Monument label; Harry Nilsson 's Rarities Collection , a 12-track LP culled from the late singer/songwriter's recent The RCA Album Collection box set; and a seven-inch single featuring previously unreleased early versions of Sly & the Family Stone 's "Sexy Situation" and "Mother Is a Hippie."
A full official list of releases that will be available exclusively at various independent record shops on November 29 will be revealed soon on Record Store Day's website .
