Michigan Attorney General calls for Supreme Court to reject right-to-work challenge

LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is calling on the state Supreme Court to toss a legal challenge to right-to-work laws passed in December.  In a legal brief, Schuette calls the move by unions to have the high court reverse an appeals court decision upholding the law as "political relief, not a legal remedy."

In August, the Michigan Court of Appeals ruled right-to-work applies to state workers.  Unions contend that can't be the case because the state constitution gives the Michigan Civil Service Commission exclusive authority to regulate their conditions of employment.
