Lawmakers, business leaders call for Keystone XL approval

LANSING (WKZO) -- A bipartisan group of state lawmakers and several business leaders are joining together to urge President Obama to approve the Keystone XL oil pipeline.  The pipeline is under construction on both sides of the Canadian border to bring oil to the U.S. for refining, but the White House has not authorized the connection of the two sides.

State Representative Aric Nesbitt of Lawton said there are construction jobs in Niles and Flint at stake along with the promise of lower gas prices.  The pipeline itself would not travel through Michigan.
