A house in Liverpool, England, where John Lennon spent his early years is scheduled to be auctioned off later this month at the city's famous Cavern Club venue.  The Liverpool Echo reports that the Beatles legend lived with his parents and grandparents at the home, which is located at 9 Newcastle Road in the Wavertree section of Liverpool, from his birth until he was about five years old.

The red-brick house features three bedrooms, a lounge and rear lounge areas, a kitchen and a family bathroom, and has a yard at the back of the property.  It's estimated to sell for between 150,000 and 250,000 pounds, about $240,000 to $400,000 U.S.

"I'll be sad to leave John Lennon's first home but I am retired now and would really like a property with a bigger garden," said the current owner of the house in a statement.  "I have made sure original features have been preserved so that they reflect the 1960s period, when the Beatles wowed the whole world with their rock and roll music."

The home is located just a few blocks from Liverpool's Penny Lane area, and is near many other Beatles-related sites.  The auction is scheduled to take place on October 29 at 6 p.m. local time.  To find out more about the property, visit CountrywidePropertyAuctions.co.uk .
