LANSING (WKZO) -- If the gubernatorial election were to be held today, Governor Snyder would easily cruise to a second term based on a poll released this week.

The data from Lambert, Edwards & Associates gives Snyder a 45-percent to 31-percent lead over likely Democratic opponent Mark Schauer.  The challenger is a former Congressman from Battle Creek and has been traveling the state to get his name out to voters, while Snyder hasn't committed to running for reelection.

Giving the Democrat some hope is a comment from pollsters in a statement that Snyder had just three-percent support in early polls in 2010 and was just as unknown before being elected.
