At a press conference held Wednesday in Las Vegas, new details were revealed about Carlos Santana 's upcoming Spanish-language album, Corazón , and the special concert taking place next month in Guadalajara, Mexico, in conjunction with the record. Billboard.com reports that the album, which will feature the guitar legend and his group collaborating with a variety of Latin and Spanish-speaking music stars, likely will be released in March.
The concert, meanwhile, which is scheduled for December 14, will be filmed for a TV special titled Corazón, Live from Mexico: Live It to Believe It that will air in the spring on the U.S.-based HBO Latino and on HBO Latin America. Many of the artists featured on Santana's album will appear at the show, including Gloria Estefan , up-and-coming pop/R&B singer Miguel , award-winning Colombian rockers Juanes and Carlos' son Salvador Santana . The concert also will serve as a homecoming for Carlos, who was born in the Mexican town of Autlan, south of Guadalajara.
A DVD focusing on the concert is expected to be released sometime later in 2014. The disc will include a documentary capturing Santana and his collaborators as they visit various Mexican locations.
Among the other well-known musicians slated to be featured on the Corazón album is Ziggy Marley . The first single, which features Juanes, is a tune called "La Flaca" that originally was a hit for Spanish rock act Jarabe de Palo during the late 1990s. The Santana/Juanes version of the tune will be available for purchase as a digital download via iTunes starting this Monday, and currently is streaming at Santana.com. The track also can be heard in a video that's been posted at YouTube.com/SantanaVEVO .
Corazón will be Santana's first-ever Spanish-language album.
