Teachers in Lansing voted to approve a new contract Thursday. Giving it the ok by a 4 to 1 margin. The decision will lock in teacher salaries for two years and guarantee maximum classroom sizes, for five years. Lansing school board officials tell media partner 6 News the deal saves an estimated $7 million in the next contract year. The plan eliminates elementary art, music and p.e. teacher positions.
