LANSING, MI (WTVB) - Human trafficking is on the rise in Michigan. State Senator Judy Emmons says domestic human trafficking is very lucrative, adding that the international border adds to the problem in Michigan. Emmons believes most people don’t realize the extent of the problem. She shared her concerns yesterday at a symposium hosted by the Catholic Diocese of Grand Rapids. According to Emmons domestic human trafficking in the U.S. is the second fastest growing industry next to the drug trade.
