LANSING (WKZO) -- A story that garnered national attention in recent weeks has come to a heartwarming end for a Genesee County family.
The Department of Natural Resources announced Monday that it will allow Lilly the whitetail deer to continue to live with the family she has been living with since birth. The family has agreed to certain conditions set forth by the state.
Lilly was born five years ago after her mother was struck and killed by a car in front of the family's Genesee County home. The family nursed the fawn to health, and she has been living at the family home since.
