LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Rick Snyder has begun his statewide effort to press the Michigan Senate to reconvene next week and vote on Medicaid expansion.  The Republican controlled Senate did not vote on the issue before adjourning for the summer last week.

The expansion would add over 400-thousand residents to Medicaid using federal funds, but the government will decrease its support to 90-percent after three years.  Some lawmakers are concerned that the funding could be cut even more in the future, leaving the state to cover the costs.

Snyder began his tour for expansion support Tuesday in Grand Rapids.
