Former Three Dog Night singer Chuck Negron is asking fans to help bring some joy to his world by contributing to his recently launched Kickstarter campaign to raise money to fund the recording of his next album.  The 71-year-old pop-rock veteran is trying to raise $75,000 toward the project via the online initiative.

The album, which tentatively is titled Then and Now , will include three previously unreleased Three Dog Night songs as bonus tracks.  Negron hopes to finish the recording by the summer of 2014.  The deadline to contribute money is August 17.

The way that Kickstarter works is that fans can donate as much or as little they'd like toward the album.  Those who contribute funds will receive various items and collectibles, with the incentives becoming greater the more you pledge.  Among the goodies Negron is offering are an advance digital download of Then and Now , a concert DVD, a greatest-hits CD, T-shirts, hats and various pieces of clothing worn by the singer.

Negron sang lead on many of Three Dog Night's biggest hits, including "Joy to the World," "One" and "Old Fashioned Love Song."  He exited the group in 1985, and has been touring as a solo artist for years.  He currently is taking part in the Happy Together Tour, which is headlined by The Turtles and also features Gary Puckett & the Union Gap , Gary Lewis & the Playboys and ex- Paul Revere and the Raiders frontman Mark Lindsay .
