Nazareth has officially confirmed the cancellation of the remaining dates on its Canadian tour following frontman Dan McCafferty 's onstage collapse last week at a show Cranbrook, British Columbia. A message posted on the veteran Scottish rockers' official website reports that the shows were cancelled "due to Dan's ill health," while promising "as soon as we have more details about Dan we will let you know."
As reported by the Cranbrook Daily Townsman , McCafferty took ill just seconds into the band's show, which took place on July 9 at the Cranbrook Curling Centre. Concert promoter Isaac Hockley told the newspaper that the singer needed "urgent medical attention" after experiencing trouble breathing.
Nazareth's Canadian trek had been scheduled through a July 27 concert in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. The group is slated to get back on the road in late August, when they have a series of European performances lined up, but it remains to be seen if McCafferty will be well enough to return to the stage by then.
