A 52-year-old Lansing woman diagnosed with schizophrenia was in court on Wednesday telling a judge that she “heard voices” before stabbing her boyfriend 17 times last year. Laura Stevens pleaded guilty but mentally ill to assault with intent to murder. Her boyfriend survived the Nov. 27 attack. Sentencing is set for Aug. 7th. Stevens told the judge that she had stopped taking her medications weeks before the stabbing.
