DETROIT (WKZO) -- Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has been ordered to pay nearly 4.6-million dollars in restitution to the city as part of his conviction in the city hall corruption case.  During her ruling, U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds also ordered him to pay 195-thousand dollars to the Internal Revenue Service.

Kilpatrick was sentenced to 28 years in prison in October after he was found guilty of 24 counts, including racketeering.  The former mayor was also accused of steering contracts to his friend Bobby Ferguson, who was found guilty on nine charges in the case and sentenced to 21-years behind bars.

Prosecutors are asking for Ferguson to be ordered to pay over 6.2-million dollars in his restitution hearing on January 9th.
