EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) - Who got arrested at what are now being called the Rose Bowl Riots in East Lansing? The students who tore up the shrubbery or who built the bonfires? East Lansing police arrested 15 people at random. Captain Jeff Murphy says they did that instead of use tear gas to encourage the crowds to disperse in the wee hours of early Sunday morning following the Spartans Big Ten title victory over the Buckeyes.
Film Student Issac Gracie tells WLNS TV-6 in Lansing that he was sober and just there to document the event, and now faces a misdemeanor and possible expulsion from college. He never recovered his camera. Seven have now been arraigned for disturbing the peace and being within 300 feet of an open fire.
