MASON COUNTY, MI (WTVB) - A very pregnant Sarah Knysz has been given two to five years in prison for her role in the shooting death of State Trooper Paul Butterfield, who was gunned down while making a traffic stop in Mason County. Knysz cut a deal with prosecutors after she was charged with being an accessory after the fact and auto theft for helping her 19-year-old husband, the alleged gunman, steal a car and attempt to escape after the shooting.
Butterfield’s Fiancé, Jennifer Sielski gave a victim-impact statement saying her life ended on the day her trooper was killed back on September 9th. Eric Knysz will be tried for the murder in February. Sarah Knysz will testify against him.
