The Moody Blues ' Justin Hayward launches a rare U.S. solo tour tonight in Munhall, Pennsylvania.  The singer/guitarist will be supporting his recently released solo album, Spirits of the Western Sky , on the trek, which is scheduled to run through an August 17 concert in Atlanta.

Other cities Hayward will visit during the 11-date outing include Annapolis, Maryland; Albany, New York; and New York City.  He'll also play a two-night stand, August 14 and 15, in Alexandria, Virginia.  Spirits of the Western Sky , Hayward's first solo studio effort since 1996's The View from the Hill , was recorded in Genoa, Italy, and Nashville.  The album offers many tunes boasting The Moody Blues' classic melodic sound, as well as featuring a handful of tracks that incorporate country and bluegrass influences.
