STOCKBRIDGE (WLMI) -- Some residents in Ingham County near the site of Enbridge's new pipeline say that they think there's a conflict of interest in having sheriffs deputies serve as security for the pipeline in Stockbridge. A subcontractor of Enbridge is paying the sheriffs department 55 dollars an hour to have two deputies on hand. That's after protests were held at the location just recently, leading to several arrests. Residents near the Stockbridge site say that having sheriffs deputies at the pipeline suggests that Enbridge needs protection. Acccording to WLNS, Ingham County Sheriff Gene Wriggelsworth he doesn't see the problem, adding that his officers will remain on site, doing 12 hour security shifts, as long as they're wanted.
