LANSING, MI (WHTC) - The Motor City Madman is at it again.
In advance of a May 14 concert appearance at Van Andel Arena, Ted Nugent took some swipes at his native state, saying that actions speak louder than words. "I am let down by the direction my birth state of Michigan has gone. It’s a suburb of Illinois," he mentioned in an interview on the statewide radio show "The Big Show with Michael Patrick Shiels" that is heard along the Lakeshore on 92.7 The Van and on WKZO AM 590 and FM 96.5. "Governor Jennifer Granholm and Mayor Coleman Young and Kwame should be in jail. The overall direction of Michigan is sad, and Governer Snyder has not reversed it."
The rock guitarist and avid outdoorsman doesn’t think much of the “Pure Michigan” ad campaign, calling it a façade. "How dare the Pure Michigan campaign not mention (hunting) because there is some hash-bash hippie in charge of Michigan’s promotional campaign…no one is going to come to Michigan to hang glide or go to the Tulip (Time) Festival."
Nugent, who predicted he would be dead or in jail by this time if President Obama was reelected, now lives in Texas.
