Stevie Nicks put her reunion with Fleetwood Mac on hold for a while so she could devote time to promoting her solo album, In Your Dreams .  But despite two solid years of touring and doing press, the iconic singer now admits that, unfortunately, her hard work didn't really pay off.

CTV News quotes Nicks as saying at the Canadian premiere of her documentary about the making of In Your Dreams , "I didn't sell a lot of records, you guys.  For me, for a big act like moi , I didn't.  Worldwide I probably sold 300,000 records.  It's awesome if you're an unknown artist and you have a hit single, but it's not really that awesome if you're Stevie Nicks."

The singer chalked it up to changes in the music industry, noting, "It's such a different age now."

Nicks is now back with Fleetwood Mac, and they'll be on the road through October.  And according to CTV News, she said performing with the band is quite a different experience than doing her solo shows.

"Fleetwood Mac's much more sophisticated and grown up," she explained.  "And my show is just like a big slumber party in an auditorium."  While she said that her producer Dave Stewart is trying to get her to mount a one-woman show with huge video screens showing images from her life, Stevie dismissed the idea, laughing, "I'm not Barbra Streisand ."
