LANSING (WKZO) -- A Michigan chapter of a national group inspired by the Sandy Hook Shootings has formed to work for gun reforms in Lansing.
Linda Brundage of Moms Demand Action heads up the Lansing Chapter of the group. She says they were buoyed by Friday's successful vote to head off a filibuster. She says the country deserves a vote on the question.
She says their state group will encourage the kind of reforms that other states have already passed since Sandy Hook, acknowledging that the republican majorities in Lansing may make it a long term fight.
She thinks people should imagine their group has the same determination as a grizzly bear protecting her cubs.
She says their big coming out party will be a rally on the steps of the Capitol building Saturday.
She says their group represents the vast majority of Americans who want commonsense solutions to the problem of gun violence.
