Report: Tigers agree to $80 million-dollar contract with Anibal Sanchez

DETROIT (WKZO) -- The Detroit Tigers have apparently secured the rights to Anibal Sanchez over the next five years.  The reported signing outbids the previously named Cubs offer of $75 million. Sanchez secures a previously in doubt rotation for the Tigers who are coming off their 2nd world series trip since 2006.

The 6 feet tall Sanchez came to the Tigers in a mid-season trade with the Florida Marlins along with former Tiger Omar Infante.  Sanchez struggled inititially after coming to the American League but found his stride late helping the Tigers to their first World Series appearance since the 2006 team. Sanchez signing shores up a previously lackluster Tigers rotation after Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer and Doug Fister.
