"Being awake is highly overrated" - Maynard G. Krebbs

Dear Lauri,

I dreamt that I picked up a blanket and cockroaches started pouring from the floor and wouldn't stop. Help! What does this horrible dream mean? Katie 31, Chicago, IL

Lauri: Gah!! For me, that is a nightmare! Oy. Okay... the blanket suggests you are trying to perhaps pick yourself up and comfort yourself from something that is currently upsetting you. However, I can't help but think that you may have also recently uncovered something that opened up a whole new can of worms... er uh... cockroaches. What's going on that is really bugging the shiz out of you right now?

Katie replies: I'm living with my mother in law right now. She has made it abundantly clear that she doesn't want me there. She makes comments all of the time about it. When I'm there, she's very obnoxious and tries to control me like a teenager. As far as uncovering something that opened up a can of worms, well, I accidentally saw her naked!

Lauri: Oh my goodness. Even though it may feel like this will never end, just as the cockroaches continually poured out of the floor, this WILL end. This too shall pass, as they say. Hang in there and in the meantime, kill her with kindness!

FASCINATING DREAM FACT: The ancient Chinese believed the soul left the body to travel the world when dreaming and that if awakened before the dream was over the soul would not be able to return. Because of this, many Chinese today are not too keen about owning an alarm clock!
