October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

by Joe Cassady

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please show your support and “Think Pink” this month with “Lansing’s Greatest Hits” 92.9 WLMI.

Sad but true, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer within their lifetime. Sometimes the message is closer to home. Your Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Wife or Friend could be diagnosed with breast cancer.

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month WLMI’s website will be pink in order to bring additional awareness and support to the importance of education, prevention, detection, and treatment. We also want to celebrate the survivors of breast cancer, and for that we rejoice!

Ask every one you know to show support and “Think Pink” this October. “Lansing’s Greatest Hits” 92.9 WLMI has teamed up with MSUFCU, Dart Bank, Hayes Green Beech Memorial Hospital, and Valvoline Instant Oil Change to promote the fight against Breast Cancer.

There are several events scheduled in Michigan which will allow you, your family and friends to participate. Plus, there are videos, statistical information, and additional opportunities for you and your loved ones to get involved in the fight to eradicate this disease that affects us all. Go to the “Think Pink” page @ http://929wlmi.com/think-pink/ and please share this link with others you know.

In the Lansing area, please take part in “Making Strides of Lansing, Michigan” which is Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Michigan State Capitol, 100 N. Capitol Avenue in Lansing beginning at 11:00am.

Thank you so much!
