BOOZE BEFORE BED = BAD NIGHT'S SLEEP

For years, a lot of people have believed that a nightcap before bed helped them sleep better, but new research is showing that it could be negatively affecting their sleep instead.

While alcohol can help us fall asleep faster, it makes our bodies go into a rebound effect during the night where we wake up and have trouble falling back asleep.

Doctors believe our brain is overcompensating for the alcohol in our system while we’re sleeping and that’s why we’re woken up.
