*Two days from leaving for America
*Four days from Ed Sullivan Show
Arriving from France at one in the Afternoon, The Beatles held their (now expected) press conference. Of course they were greeted by a hundred or so screaming fans.
After that they got a much needed day off before boarding Pan Am flight 101 (Boeing 707) in two days. John and George are informed they’ll be interviewed by UK reporter June Harris tomorrow night, the eve of their tip to America. We’ll have that tomorrow on the Beatles Blog.
After such great success in Europe you would think they might have a hint of what awaited them in the U.S. Such is not the case. Two days from now, Paul McCartney mentions "They've got their own groups. What are we going to give them that they don't already have?
We didn’t have Beatles, yet.
