The name The Cavern Club in Liverpool, England has become synonymous with The Beatles. Along with seedy clubs in Hamburg, Germany, it's where they cut their teeth, and played over 300 shows while honing their skills, prior to exploding onto fame.
It was recently reported that The Cavern Club is for sale at a cost of about a million dollars, though there is some dispute whether the club itself is for sale, or just the surrounding strip mall.
Of course, it's not the real Cavern Club anyway. The original Cavern Club was demolished many years ago. However, they used some of the bricks to build a new Cavern Club right across the street, because well, ANYTHING to do with the Beatles' history seems to be worth clamoring for these days.
